Steve King

Concerning Steve King’s remark, “I’ve never heard of a girl getting pregnant from statutory rape or incest.”

Mr. King must be deaf and blind.  They used to hide the statistics under the innocuous metaphor, “Damage to Minor,” or similar language.  That specifically meant pregnancy from rape by father, close relative, or boyfriend.  The usual outcome was DNC, available mostly to rich kids.  Read between the lines.  That probably means that a secret abortion was performed.  What’s the difference?  They still murdered the baby.  Three crimes (rape, lying, and murder) don’t make one right.  The bottom line is that we are still failing to teach respect for women and children.  Respect for women is something that takes place before they are pregnant, outside of the woman’s body, like abstinence until marriage.  Staying zipped up may be difficult, but it’s a worthwhile goal.
