Section 1: Saturday Vespers
Division 1:1
... in the name of the Father, and
of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
Amen. Through the prayers of our
holy Fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us and save us. Amen. Glory
to You, our God, Glory to You.
O Heavenly King,
the Comforter, the Spirit of truth, You are everywhere and fill all things,
Treasury of blessings, and Giver of life: come and abide in us, and cleanse us
from every impurity, and save our souls, O Good One.
Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy
Immortal, have mercy on us (three times).
Glory be to the
Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, as it is now, was in the
beginning, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
All-holy Trinity, have mercy on us. Lord, cleanse us from our sins. Master, pardon our iniquities. Holy One, visit us and heal our infirmities
for Your Name’s sake. Lord have mercy (three times).
Psalm 1 KJV Paraphrase
Blessed [is] the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands
in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But, his delight [is] in the law of the Lord. In His law, he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the
streams of water, who brings forth his fruit in his season. His leaf also shall not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper.
The ungodly [are] not so: but [are]
like the chaff, which the wind drives away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in
the congregation of the righteous. For
the Lord knows the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall
perish.
Psalm 1 KJV
Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor
standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight [is] in the law of the Lord; and in his
law doth he meditate day and night. And
he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his
fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth
shall prosper.
The ungodly [are] not so: but [are]
like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in
the congregation of the righteous. For
the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall
perish.[1]
